Kamran Khan Tessori, Sindh Governor, declared that the Sindh Premier League (SPL) aims to emphasize the culture and prodigious potential of the province by introducing the youth from the areas to the international platform. This statement was made at the Roadshow of SPL in London, which was attended by a great variety of British-Pakistanis. The delegation of SPL led by Tessori included Chairman Aslam Malik, CEO Chaudhry Shahzad Akhtar, and President Arif Malik.
They were accompanied by the owners of the teams consisting of Ghulam Hussain Shahid from Benazirabad, Jahanzeb Alam of Hyderabad Bahadurs, Irfan Wahid from Karachi Gladiators, Aamir Siddiqui of Larkana Challengers, and representatives of Sukkur Patriots and Khairpur Royals. Other honorable figures present at the event were Lord Qurban Hussain and Lord Wajid. rthe support and said that Mr. Khan also attended and took part in the event by sharing his perspectives. The Sindh Governor thanked overseas Pakistanis for their support, and noted that Khan attended and addressed the gathering, offering his views on the matter.
The President of the Sindh Premier League (SPL) Arif Malik encouraged members to consider investing in Pakistan, asking them to regard the country as their home no matter what passports they hold. Aslam Malik, the Chairman of SPL, declared the London event as the first international presentation for the company. He expressed his ambition that the Pakistani talent and more specifically, the youth of Sindh would be celebrated via SPL internationally.
Chaudhry Shahzad Akhtar, the CEO of SPL, made it clear that Pakistan would continue to use cricket as a tool for forming global relationships and would rely on SPL to help achieve this ambition. Malik stated that like renowned players Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq, other leading figures had agreed to serve as ambassadors of the league, indicating that it was of an international-standard quality. He detailed that the Sindh Premier League is a T20 cricket competition consisting of matches that will take place from December 14-25, 2023 at the National Bank Cricket Arena ( aka the National Cricket Stadium).
The inaugural season of SPL will see teams from six different cities of Sindh – Benazirabad Reds, Hyderabad Bahadurs, Karachi Gladiators, Sukkur Patriots, Khairpur Royals and Larkana Challengers – competing for the championship.
